“For this piece I worked with the idea of starting from a non preconceived videodance stance, it is, denying myself what videodance is. The only condition for this study was: I danced in front of the camera, maintaining a mirror relationship with the lens and based on the idea that the camera is an extension of my body. ”

NAYELI BENHUMEA

3_Nayeli_B_bajaNayeli has got a degree in Design in Graphic Communication, UAM Atzcapotzalco. She studied the specialty in dance creation at CICO, INBA. She is a creator of videoart, videodance and documentaries. Nayeli leads the DANZAPERRA project. Her work has been shown at festivals: Agite y Sirva, México; danca em foco, Brasil; Festival Internacional de Videodanza de Buenos Aires. She is coauthor of the book Videodanza. De la escena a la pantalla. She completed the International Seminar on Documentary Film at the Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Buenos Aires and took part in the workshop Writing Videodance with Douglas Rosenberg at the Festival VideodanzaBA, 2013. She is currently in the process of certification of the Master on Visual Arts ENAP-UNAM with the project The Fragmented Body. Technologies of the image and body. She is also a contributor to the e-publication Segunda, Cuadernos de Danza de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
