MeM#9 —1) El Caleidoscopio Eterno Ahora de Laura Luna Castillo. From Movimiento en Movimiento on Vimeo.
El caleidoscopio del eterno ahora (Laura Luna Castillo. México.) 6:49 min.
The kaleidoscope of the eternal now is a dance of memories, where forgetfulness and the rhythm of the ordinary unravels and registers within intensities, regularities, intermittences, urgencies and small vibrations. Through music and generative visuals, an atmosphere of the familiar and the unusual is weaved and unraveled, through stimuli that evoke melancholy images about an ephemeral present, which is breaking down as we traverse and explore it. The memory of the now is distorted into a bittersweet mix of noise, digital corruptions, samples and algorithms. Filmed just before the pandemic reached Mexico, these little snapshots of an ordinary day have gain new significance and relevance, they have become an archive of a pre-Covid normality.
