Itinerários (Fenia Kotsopoulou. Greece.) 3:15 min.
“Itinerários” is a collage of instant collective compositions by pedestrian in urban context. Individuals, couples and groups map a journey across time and space by walking in different paces and/or standing still; passengers become a performative ensemble which creates multiple trajectories and random encounters, transforming the square in a site of performance; the music is an important element revealing inner dynamic rhythms of the walking activity, bringing together and resynthesizing all the elements of this urban choreography. The video has been filmed from the top of the arch on Rua Augusta which sees at the Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio) in Lisbon and edited on the experimental music piece “A wail”, composed and performed by Stefano Risso.

I am a UK-resident, Greek-born cross-disciplinary artist (performance (art), dance, video, photography) holding an MFA in Choreographing Live Art (University of Lincoln) and a BA Honours in Dance (National Dance Academy of Rome). Over the course of the last four years, video making and photography became a dominant and persistent component of my artistic practice. Pivotal topics of recent projects include the body as gathering place of emotions and site of transformation, personal and collective memory, fragmentation, construction and deconstruction of female identity, performativity of documentation and different uses of personal archives. In the past few years, as (dance) performer, producer and visual practitioner, my works have been shown at a wide array of festivals and art platform
