JURY

ANNA MACDONALD (UNITED KINGDOM)

JURY AT THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MOVIMIENTO EN MOVIMIENTO SCREENDANCE AWARDS 2022.

Anna Macdonald is a dance artist/scholar whose work moves between moving image, live art and contemporary performance practice. Her work focuses on the relationship between the body, time and affect and uses film to expose the resonance of simple movements, such as, moving from ‘here to there’, ‘holding’ or ‘getting slower’. Her work is regularly exhibited internationally in both festival and gallery settingsand has generated interdisciplinary findings in the fields of health, science and law, within large-scale projects funded by AHRC, Arts Council England and Wellcome Trust. She is currently the Course Leader for MA Performance: Society at UAL:Central St Martins, London.

MARÍA FERNANDA VALLEJOS (ROSARIO, ARGENTINA)

María Fernanda is an Artist – Cultural Manager – Curator and Screendance Teacher. Bachelor of Fine Arts UNR. Since 1993 she has been researching the interaction between the body and technology. Her works have been subsidized and awarded nationally and internationally. She works at Asc. COBAI Rosario (Festival Internacional EL CRUCE and Festival Internacional de Videodanza CUERPO MEDIADO), within these festivals she is part of REDIV, Ibero-American Videodance Network and CAV Argentine Circuit of Videodance.

DIEGO CARRERA (URUGUAY)

JURY AT THE MOV EN MOV-REDIV AWARD 2022.

Diego is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Arts at the University of the Republic of Uruguay in film and video, a researcher on dance and technology issues. He is currently responsible for the TransmediaUy project for documentary and media production. He was director of the International Videodance Festival of Uruguay until 2017 and author of articles on film analysis and screendance. He’s a current member of REDIV.

CURATORS

LUCINA ITZEL PEDROZO LARA (MEXICO)

Curator at Mov en Mov festival.

Video artist who explores, from the audiovisual language, the plastic possibilities of body movement in different media such as: drawing, animation, video installation and sculpture. She was a fellow of the FONCA Young Creators Program (2018-2019). She’s a curator at the International Screendance Festival Movimiento en Movimiento and she’s an amateur bookseller at Rinoceton. She is currently doing doctoral research on video art in Latin America.

ROCÍO BECERRIL PORRAS (MEXICO)

Curator at Mov en Mov festival.

Promoter and creator of dance film, choreographer, teacher, dance filmmaker.

Rocío completed her masters degree in video and dance at the University of Quebec in Montreal. Her works have been outlined, since the beginning, as multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary scenic proposals, where dance, filmic image, painting, and sculpture have a privileged place. In 1996 she founded the company R + R arte y movimiento. Literature, philosophy and science have inspired her, achieving in her career over 30 interdisciplinary scenic and audiovisual works. Her choreographic and videodance production has been presented in Mexico, Montreal, Brazil, Spain, Uruguay and Cuba. Her work in collaboration with plastic and sound artists has enabled her to venture into choreographic installation concepts and interventions in unconventional spaces.

YOLANDA M. GUADARRAMA (MEXICO)

Yolanda M. Guadarrama. Movimiento en Movimiento Director and Curator. Engineer, dancer, choreographer, audiovisual creator, coeditor of MOHO Magazine and Editorial. She is dedicated to the creation, exhibition, teaching and promotion of screendance, she made her first sceendance in 1994. She was Cofounder of Motion festival in Berlin, 2008. She has been a curator for RIFF festival, Norway for 7 years. She was a Screendance judge at LIFF, UK in 2017. Her work AILING ANIMAL obtained honorable mention in Agite y Sirva, 2015. POTATO EATERS obtained first place as an experimental short, Eurasia International Monthly Film Festival, 2018. Her works have been exhibited in several international festivals. She is a member of RED IBEROAMERICANA DE VIDEODANZA-Screendance Iberoamerican Net (REDIV).

NAYELI BENHUMEA (MEXICO)

Curator at MOV in MOV Festival. Interdisciplinary artist of the body, writing, body-camera and body-screen. Degree in Graphic Communication Design (UAM), Specialty in Dance Creation (CICO). Several of her creations have been presented at international festivals. She is a specialist in writing about screenodance. She is co-author of the book “Videodanza. From the stage to the screen”. In 2021, her video Contemplation of the Catastrophe won an award at R.E.D. International Film Festival/dance-art-cinema in Norway in the category Short Films. She is an independent writer and editor, her publishing house DANZAPERRA self-managed her book “Desert, Fragments to disappear”, 2021
